step 1: YOUR Coaching ROLE

At PCFC, we have a distinctive approach to our coaching program that sets us apart from many other clubs. All players practice at the same time and location, which allows our youngest players to be inspired by our older-aged ones. It also allows for our families to commute to one location. To support this, PCFC assigns multiple coaches to each team and has an age-coach mentor overseeing several teams. This setup creates an environment where both seasoned and new coaches can collaborate and learn from one another. If this interests you, continue forward!

step 2: apply to become a coach

Our coaches are the backbone to our club. As a PCFC Coach, you'll support youth athletes to stay physically and emotionally healthy, build confidence, plan for the future, and experience belonging. We are seeking youth coaches at all levels (developmental, recreational, and competitive). We provide:

Online and in-person coach training (e.g. United Soccer Coaches)
One-on-one coach check-ins
Soccer drills, lessons, and other youth instruction materials
Plus! A welcoming, fun, inclusive environment!

Our experienced coaching staff will also provide on-field support during practices to help improve and support your coaching technique.

We strive to recruit coaches who reflect the communities we serve. We highly encourage coaches of color to apply-over 95% of players are from different communities of color. Currently, we hold a club-wide practices every Monday and Wednesday between 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm in NE Portland. Are you available on Monday and Wednesday evenings?

All of your teams play on the weekends. Most games are scheduled for Saturdays, but there are Sunday games as well. Please let us know if you'll be available to coach most weekends.
