David Douglas High School Students Award $6,500 to PCFC’s Family Service Program

PORTLAND, Ore. – May, 2026 – Portland Community Football Club (PCFC) has been awarded $6,500 to support its Family Service Program through Schnitzer Cares. The grant was selected by high school students from David Douglas High School.

The students are part of Link Crew, the school’s leadership program. They chose PCFC as a grant recipient through the Schnitzer Cares Student Grantmaking Program.

“We are honored that the students at David Douglas High School chose to invest in our Family Service Program,” said Jerika Ferguson, Executive Director, Portland Community Football Club. “It means a great deal to be recognized by young leaders from our own community. This support will help us continue serving our youth and families”.

The grant will support PCFC’s Family Service Program, our wraparound service program for our youths’ families who receive monthly nutrition services, emotional support, and community referrals.

PCFC extends its thanks to the David Douglas High School Link Crew students for their time, their careful decision-making, and their support of local families. PCFC also thanks Schnitzer Cares for making the Student Grantmaking Program possible.
